I would like to suggest adding a selection of accessibility guidelines to the "About the Polytheist Community Forums" subforum, perhaps as an added post on "Rules and Forum Etiquette." Often non-disabled people don't do these things, not out of maliciousness but out of ignorance. Having a handy guide to refer to might encourage people to make their posts more accessible. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) can give you an idea of what to include in such a list, but if possible it would be best to consult with disabled people on this forum to see what would be specifically beneficial to them. A few things that should probably be included are: - Provide alt text with photos
- Do not use excessively small fonts
- Use fonts that contrast appropriately with the background
- Break large blocks of text up into smaller chunks
And something about making links distinguishable from surrounding text and providing enough room to click, for example linking a whole phrase rather than doing this: [x] - as well as making the purpose/target of the link clear.
I've seen that requested on tumblr as a matter of accessibility, but I'm not sure how to describe it succinctly And I'm sure there are many more - it would probably be something open to editing to add new suggestions as they come up.

I like this idea! I'll go ahead and try to implement a list. Once it's done, I'll post a link to it here.

I also tweaked the theme so that the hyperlinks are a bright blue.

Linking a whole phrase is also better for screen readers - people who use them often scan through links, skipping over text, and if all the links just say "x," they won't know what to click.
My web agency does a LOT of work with accessibility, so I can definitely answer questions and guide people if anyone needs it!

Mhmm, my office is renewing efforts to make materials accessible, which is why I brought it up here as well. There are a few screen reader emulator addons for different browsers, if you're ever concerned about how your posts read, you can try one of those to check it. I'm using VOX for Chrome, but others might be better, I don't know.
