So, funny story. I work at "Popular Corporate Bookstore" and we always have music playing (which incidentally is my department). Anyway we had Vance Joy playing in January and when I first walked in and heard Riptide playing I looked at my manager and said "Why the fuck is this in English?" I had only ever heard TG's cover (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTJBfNF0xHU) and had been jamming out to it.

It came on the radio at my old work one day and I couldn't figure out why it sounded wrong. It was English. I'd even heard the English one first I'd just heard the cover more. I've been listening to a lot of stuff by Gavin Dunne, AKA miracleofsound on YouTube. He does a lot of original music based on videogames, with the occasional TV show or movie, as well as a few completely original ones. His song for Dragon Age: Inquisition (link here, and I understand that there are no spoilers, but I've still been advised not to watch the video until I've played the game) has a tendency to get stuck in my brain for days, but it's so awesome that I don't mind. I was listening to music in the car with my brother today, and our conversation would completely pause whenever that song's chorus came on so that we could mouth the words. I also tend to listen to a lot of music from the animated webseries RWBY, but I haven't had the heart to go find any of it on YouTube since the series creator's death. There's a lot of good music, though, even if you don't know the series or its characters.

RWBY has great music. (Also...I wasn't following it but my heart aches over what happened :<) And the same composer did some of RvB music too and jdklfjsdklfjds just love it! Smooth McGroove is another person who does vocal covers of video game music. And he has a cat. SUPER fun to watch.

Yes! Jeff Williams is fantastic. (And I made the mistake of watching the video on The Know announcing Monty's death. That was... difficult.)
Ah, Smooth McGroove. My niece (almost two years old) has named him "the buh-buh guy", and often insists on watching his videos and trying to find the kitty. Best babysitting tool ever.

WHO DOESN'T LOOK FOR THE KITTY DURING THE VIDEOS?! It's the best "Where Waldo?" 'cause instead of Waldo, you're looking for a cute KITTY!

Music wise I tend to listen to a lot of Susumu Hirasawa. A lot of him. Mandrake, P-MODEL, his solo stuff I don't care. Just need more of it. I also like The Pogues a lot and Shane macGowan and the Popes.
I've been recently listening to nyancat over and over though because of an rp character of mine. It is somewhat maddening.

I'm listening to Allec's " Cú Chulainn is a Pop-Star" mix and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Modern day retelling of the Táin where Cú Chulainn walks around with a boombox playing Uptown Funk at all times.

That reminds me that a friend of mine describes Irish myth as being very anime like. Cú Chulainn even has a super form in addition to his crazy impossible hair, young age, and beautiful bishi-face. Today I've been listening to the soundtrack of Analogue: A Hate Story.

I'm getting ready to go to my hockey game, so I'm listening to Turisas, currently Ten More Miles. For some reason, I always play better after listening to Turisas. And apparently, I might have to be the "enforcer" tonight because some people don't understand the concept of "rec league" so yeah. Viking time.
