I really want that tree book! I cycling through reading a few books: - Delusions of Gender by Cordelia Fine
- Celtic Myths general editor Jake Jackson
- The Deities are Many by Jordan Paper
The book by Paper is taking some time as I am banging my head against the wall with some sexist and cissexist language and philosophies.
The myth book is really well-written and enjoyable so far to read.
And Delusions of Gender is doing a good job so far at addressing a lot of sexism.
I have some books on my e-reader that I need to finish though...

I just started Skin Game by Jim Butcher.
Time to yell at Harry Dresden for making bad life choices.

I was reading Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman, but my sister hijacked it so that she can read it.
Instead, I'm going through Ciaran Carson's translation of The Táin so I can mark specific sections for a small project I'm working.
And, I'm trying to find a copy of Element's Encyclopedia of the Celts because I want to know what's actually in it, however finding a downloadable version I don't have to pay for has been relatively difficult.
*edit was a quick spelling check.

"Song of the Vikings: Snorri and the making of Norse Myths" by Nancie Marie Brown. It has been good so far.

i've been reading Kate Elliott's Cold Magic series, which i'd been looking forward to for ages, but i'm on the second book and it's still pretty meh? so i might give up and go back to Discworld, as i still have to read the last book in the Tiffany Aching series
i also started reading a set of essays called Gender and Transgender in Modern Paganism, which has been interesting and is a good look at how trans people are finally getting fed up and speaking out about a lot of these communities, but i don't think it will go into issues specific to polytheist and recon spaces, which is a bummer. and some of the essays are written by people i'm wary of because of the paths they follow (white people calling themselves shamans and the like), but i feel like it might give me some insight and inspiration? maybe? we'll see

I'm reading My Heart, My Mother by Alison Roberts. After this, I'm probably going to re-read the Outlander series for the trillionth time.

I'd love to check it out. oh yes! it is here (pdf) i'm only 3 chapters in, and haven't gotten to the bits written by a guy who claims to be a "northern shaman" so i can't go really in depth with possible triggers. the authors obviously talk a lot about the transphobia they've encountered, and it seems like most of them are in the older crowd, so some of the language is outdated and so far there hasn't really been talk of non-binary people. just stuff to be aware of before reading. i'm sorry if some of this stuff gets troubling... maybe i'll update as i go? or when i'm done i'll reblog something on tumblr and put tws on that.

I am currently smack in the middle of a reading project I refer to alternatively as The Great Discworld Quest or PRACHETT QUEST. As you can probably guess, it involves reading the entire Discworld series. In as close to chronological order as I can manage.
Currently I'm on Lords and Ladies though I've also read some of the stuff that comes chronologically after that, because not everything is available from the library in a sensible order and some stuff isn't available at all so I've had to borrow it from people. When I'm finished with my next batch from the library (plus the stuff I own or have borrowed) I'll have gotten up to book #21 of 40 (having skipped only #9 because I can't freaking find it anywhere).
As a side note it's nice to be done my English degree so I'm no longer constantly drowning under class readings and can just read for fun instead.

Lords and Ladies is probably my favorite of all the books i read last year! i adore it and have massive amounts of love for how it depicts the good folk. i've been contemplating reading it again... i've also been working my way through The Great Discworld Quest the past couple of years, though i've mostly been going chronologically by arc, and then read bits and pieces of others whenever i decide i need a break from the arc i'm on. good luck with your quest! it is a serious undertaking
