This is a thread for all of us trying to learn or already know Irish! I'm currently learning via Duolingo. It's free and really intuitive to learn. I appreciate that I don't feel like I can fail and can repeat lessons a zillion times You can add me on there--my username is purplehandcuff.

i've been trying to slowly add small things to my list of daily activities, and this seems like it'd be a really good one!

I have the WORST head for languages but to begin, I'm making a point of learning the meanings and pronunciations of all Irish words I come across in my research. Also, in instances where I get to see text side-by-side with English and Irish, I've been spending some time breaking that down. I've already learned a couple things that way!

I'm hoping to become fluent enough that I can read the language, not that I can necessarily speak it or have a conversation. That'd be such a big feat for me haha.

I'm gonna try to be more consistent... I seem to retain a lot if I remember to practice daily!

I fell out of practice with duolingo after starting my new job. I really need to get back into it. (I'm littleredkelpie over there.) I did start a notebook and take notes down from the site, partially to help me remember, and partially so I could refer to it while lost at a question lol. I have a gaeilge tag on my tumblr for anything useful I find.

It's really helpful! So far I'm focusing on the grammar stuff but I intend to go back and make a vocab section too. Color coded because I am a HUGE NERD
