Any one have any funny stories, or myths about their Gods that they would like to share?

So a few months ago, a friend and I were joking around about Medb in the Tain, and how she's described with a squirrel on one shoulder. And I jokingly made the comment that "Why, she must be a squirrel goddess!" and we had a few laughs over that, because neither of us had ever heard of a deity being described as a squirrel goddess. I later made the comment "There are disturbing squirrels that look like demon hybrids in my backyard!" ... "I should use this as a valid reason to start worshiping her [Medb] so my weirdly shaped squirrels won't kill me!" We both laughed for a short period of time and likened the idea to some of the ridiculous stuff we see float across our Dashboards on Tumblr.
It was pretty silly, overall, but I still remember it at random times and laugh like a total loon.

Ohmygosh...I kinda want a Disney-style movie about the Táin to be made with a cute squirrel accompanying Mebd throughout it--like the dragon in Mulan? I can't stop picturing it now!
I still remember looking back on my first time praying to Lugh how I also invited Brighid because the Wicca 101 book made it seem like I had to have both a God and Goddess for any ritual. And I did it in that type of Wicca God-and-Goddess style...which meant the implication that Brighid was ~sexually~ involved with Lugh. I didn't get it at the time, but looking back I think Brighid was going the entire time "Oh no...No no no...Not into Lugh like that. I'll...come back once you get past this phase." Lugh stuck around, so to speak, but Brighid indeed just kinda left me alone until I learned more about Gaelic Polytheism and dropped most of my NeoWiccan-influences.
But it just makes me smile to think of how accidentally awkward I musta made things for Brighid haha.

Brighids always been funny for me, because she doesn't like me. If I try to light candles in her honor, my lighters wont work. If I try an electric candle, all the electricity in my neighborhood mysteriously shuts down as soon as I try to turn it on. Which when I was first starting to pray, everything said you had to say a prayer to Brighid too, and made everything so very confusing.
But yes I can totally imagine a Disney-style movie of the Tain, cute squirrel and all.

So when I went to the ocean I went with a few plans in mind. I've always felt really weird around the ocean so when I started learning things about Irish polytheism I began to wonder if that might have been part of it. The weird feeling around the ocean. So I brought some mead that I had made with me to offer to Manannán.
And like all trips I stripped down to my bathing suit immediately and ran into the ocean because dammit. Ocean. While out there I decided to pray to Manannán and ask if he was around. I was very, very promptly hit by a large, strong wave. It was a lovely wave too. I just had to stop and stare at it and it was awe inspiring. A lot of waves are pretty, but that one was entrancing. Water got stuck up my nose. My throat burned horribly and I got sea water in my eyes.
When I came up I laughed.

I've had a similar experience with Manannán. There was a day where I went to Lake Michigan with some friends when there were a bunch of warnings for big waves. I'd started getting really cocky towards the waves and Manannán, in a 'is that all you got' kind of way. Next thing I knew, I was getting shoved down by a wave. I actually got pressed into the sand and held there for a moment. It was both exhilarating and terrifying. Also dangerous, cuz rip tides are a thing. I advise against it. I've learned to have much more respect towards Manannán and water since then.

I am totally unable to refer to Manannan as a diva in any way without getting the feeling of an eye twitch and a glare, but somehow calling him a drama king is fine. Like "Hmph. That's better." with arms crossed, fine. I didn't know he was so... ah, picky about his adjectives.

My wife will only refer to Camulos as "Cammie" and to Lug as "Loofa" or "Mr Beer Guy".

I'm laughing so hard at the Manannán ones all I can think of is Do not taunt the ocean, or the ocean will taunt you back.

Oh, I just remembered another one, too. So I did a quick yes/no tarot pull. Reverses are no, ups are yes. Asked if Manannan was... around, my guide, the general feel for "with me" was the emotion behind the last word(s), as I can't remember what it was.
Pulled the effing Ace of Pentacles. Could not help but laugh.

I recently transferred to the seafood department of the grocery store where I work. It occurred to me that I'm going to have to kill lobsters if people ask for them, and I thought, "Oh, hey, I can totally say a quick mental prayer to offer their souls to Pluto!" and immediately, I just got this impression in the back of my head of "I REALLY do not want lobsters."

As I was reading this, I got the sense of "Who the hell wants lobsters? They're basically sea bugs," that I think may have been from Cernunnos. *Snerk.*

When I was at the Gulf last fall for a close friend's wedding, I literally spent like 6 hours in the water by myself, never really coming out except to apply more 100 SPF sunscreen cause my heritage is Irish, Swedish, and German, so can we say 3rd degree sunburn? Anywhoo, I was out and there were these little fish that I'd been seeing, but there was one that kept hovering around me. They'd let me get close, but not touch them, but they kept comin back. And every time I'd thing they left, they'd show back up with another buddy until there were like 5-7 of em. It dawned on me later that this happened after I'd spent a few minutes the first night and the first little bit in the water than morning praying/reflecting on Manannán.
