This isn't really pop culture Paganisim, but it's more how things that look pagan today relate to cultures of old in good bad or etc. ways.
Take Skyrim for example. The main people are called Nords. There is a Fighters Guild that so happens to be werewolves and have spirits of wolves in them. A deity called Hircine has a head of a deer and has a big hunt (forgot name of hunt) done for beasts and people with big rewards. Celtic Artwork/Knots. Dragons. Etc.
Connections may include like the real Nordic people, the Fíanna, Cerunnous, Art, and Welsh and etc.
I don't really know if any things like this is appropriation, or good or bad, but the connections seem interesting.

I know what you mean! seamu5 and I are both into the idea that Legend of Zelda is TOTALLY Gaelic Polytheism, and that Lugh and Link are super similar. I forget what it was, but my fiance was talking about some work of fiction and I was mentioning how that was similar in Gaelic cultures. Which leads me to wonder how much was inspired by Gaelic cultures or Celtic cultures at large? It's definitely a possibility. There's a lot of tropes from pagan times that are held over that need to change though... One I'd like to see is how physical features indicate worth. In Gaelic lore, for example, if a king had a blemish or had something wrong with his body, he was deemed unfit to rule. That type of thinking carried into today is really ableist, though we do have a kickass story about how Nuada overcame that.

Actually, looking more into it, Skyrim is highly (or at least is near or kind of taken on) a Viking/Nord like parallel. There are Jarls who swear loyalty to a High King, and a lot of other stuff I forgot that connects, but it's pretty close or near it. I'd love to hear more on the Zelda Gaelic please .

Well, honor plays a huge role in Zelda like it does in Gaelic tales. The very animistic nature of the world is also on par with Gaelic ideology. Not to mention the balance being based on 3's in Zelda, like it is in Gaelic polytheism.

Gaelic Zelda is neato. I think one of you compared Ganon to Balor and Zelda to Bríghid? Or was that me having some sort of strange polytheism and Zelda themed fever dream. It might have been.
It makes me think about how birds often carry messages or are otherwise the sign of Otherworld and its inhabitants possibly being about too. As much as I hate that motherfucking owl he is indeed a magical bird with messages.
Kaepora Gaebora really needs to not switch up his options though. The jerk.
also shapeshifting and magical music. yes. good. continue this zelda.
