That'd be so helpful Redfaery! I'll go ahead and do that.

Could we get sub board shortcuts visible, or mentions listed in the descriptions, so visitors can see that there is "support" of the specific boards?

I've been told Hinduism is "open", but most Hindus(term?) don't understand why someone would convert, you're soul would still have he same karmic impact on dharma no matter what.

I could go up to the Hindu Temple of St. Louis to check on it, but I feel that'd be kinda rude? I shot an /ask to a Tumblr that Allec pointed me to, but haven't heard back yet.

Going to a legit temple like that would be great, I think? You'd be specifically asking a spiritual leader of that religion. I mean.. are the spiritual leaders of that temple (there should be a website or something) non-Asian at all? or?

I haven't been, but it's popular enough a temple that they had to get approval for a secondary building for it.
I'm just not sure how to ask something like that without it being rude, y'know?
Edit: I mean that as in that I'm not sure for a physical encounter without just a run in and run out.

Like having a note of some sort, somehow, what sub-boards are in a primary, or mother, board, so that people know that there's child boards inside without having to open each board itself. I know things aren't that hoppin', but I think it might be useful, and linking to them in the description is pretty easy with a bit of either bbCode or HTML (can't remember which it takes).

I think you going in and seeking out a 'leader' there to be like, "I am not intentionally being rude, but I was wondering if people can convert here" or whatever? Just be humble and sincere would do you fine, I think.
Allec- I think she's talking about on the forum main page, having the sub board links show up without having to click on the main board to see it.
E.g. East Asian Polytheism Desc of board Subboard link, Subboard link

Aren't the subboards listed right now? I can see them there...
Right now, the only sub-board we have is Japanese Polytheism under the East Asian Polytheism board.

Ah, that might be it then, that there's only one board with sub boards, but I'm on mobile (again) so I can't check it again, but I don't remember the Japanese board having the links? Mivi Okay. Awesome, thank you. I wasn't sure about how to approach that subject at all.

Oooooh...It doesn't seem to be showing up on mobile, but it does on the browser version! I don't know how to fix it for the mobile version other than trying to link it in the descriptions?

It's great people here are so aware of cultural appropriation but I think there's a point where you can go overboard in paranoia. (I've seen that happen in some communities...CR in particular!) The "open vs. closed" designation is rather oversimplified. A specific tribal government can decide no non-tribe members are allowed in sweat lodges. The head of a sect of Hinduism can decide Julia Roberts can't be a member of their sect- Hinduism or Santana Dharma in general is billions of people with many different sects and philosophies. Some Hindus consider everyone who believes in God to be a sort of a Hindu. Some are more concerned about protecting their culture from dabbling hippies. Understandable. I think the biggest thing is just to work on establishing some relationship with the culture in question and make an effort to connect. I don't know if you'll get much participation here from more traditional Hindus since they tend to not identify as polytheists (though once again- hard to generalize!) But there are quite a few polytheists & pagans who honor Hindu gods in a Hindu manner, with puja and such. Niki Whiting, on Patheos, for example.
