So I was looking at the You Might Be A Recovering Monotheist list and the thing there that I don't know how to get around is swearing. What alternative swears do you use? I mean, at work I used to say "gosh dang" and "jiminy cricket" but those are just getting around using the same old monotheist swears. I do say "shit" and "fuck" but those are generally considered more obscene so I'm trying to get out of the habit of saying them around the baby. (Monotheist baggage or not, I'd rather the baby say 'darn' than 'fuck' XD)
What sorts of non-monotheistic swears do you use, and how did you get out of the habit of the ones you'd presumably been using for years?

I've been using 'crudmonkeys' for years. Also strange-but-mundane words, such as 'cabbage' or 'salamander.' *shrug*

I don't swear with any mention of divine entities. Only use mundane words. Only when something really, really nasty happens, I may swear with mention of devil/satan, but I try to avoid this.

This is... not a habit I've been able to break yet, haha. I say "Jesus Christ" and "Goddamn it" and variations thereof, generally including "fucking" in there somewhere. Although that not as much as "fuck" and "shit" and other creative variations. "Fucko," "fuckass," and "shitfucker" being some of my favorites.
I have a very foul mouth :x

Basically what saintfelicity said, but with special emphasis on "God damn it!" It's by far my most used swear... much to the dismay of the Catholics in my family and my girlfriend's family who are Baptist. It's not intentional it's just a habit I've built up. I need to work on that one.

Sometimes If I'm in pagan circles, I let my flag fly and say stuff like "Ye gods", but other then that... Just a lot of variations of "Fuck", "Goddamnit", and "Jesus Fucking Christ."

I'm trying to break ties with monotheistic swears like "Jesus Christ" but it's hard x.x;;;
Right now, I manage to say "Gods damn it" and am trying to adopt Raiona's idea of saying "Gods drown it" in place of that. I also say "fiddle sticks" or meow/hiss.

"Stars and stones" and "pox and plagues" are swears I picked up from various fantasy novels. I'm also fond of "sithspawn" and "Hell's bells".

I swear like a sailor... I get it from my mom (we burn with the spirit of Korea, as they say haha). And due to my workplace being really lax with my coworkers/immediate managers, I didn't need to tone down my cussing either. I am very careful to filter that out for clients, obviously.

Ever since a friend of mine was told by a Buddhist woman that she hoped he was going to be reborn as a slug I've occasionally said this about people because I think it sounds silly. Also that I hope Hotai eats them. I am not sure why he would but he kind of scares me with how happy he is all the time.
Which is a terrible reason to say anything.
I am now wondering why I have never called myself or anyone else a monkeybrained fuck for being unable to focus. It has everything I could ever want. Monkeybrained be a reference to the monkey mind, a sort of way of describing the chaotic, restless, and unfocused mind.

I've gotten in the habit of saying, "Gods damn it," or sometimes putting in a specific god, although I usually don't. I never really used Jesus as a swear, but I do occasionally but I pronounce it with an H like in Spanish. Sometimes I even say, "My cousin Jesus." Pretty sure I've got a cousin named Jesus somewhere. I also use random words from different languages. The word "iske" has kinda become a word I use for lots of things. I think I just like saying it and sometimes I use it to replace swear words. I also throw in science words too. Things like psuedopenis, urohydrosis, and cloaca. And Bugeranus, which is an old crane genus. Some of the scientific names for things are pretty good to throw out there.

I still use a lot of "Jesus Christ" and "Good Lords." But I taught myself to use "son of a Kowakian monkey-lizard" from Star Wars as a kid, and that has not gone away, lol. I've started trying to use the plural gods instead of the singular in swears, and I've recently discovered that saying "curse you to the Fomorians" is incredibly fun.

I haven't really been able to kick my use of monotheist swears, especially if I'm around my family, but I try and say gods damn it. It's just gonna take a lot of getting used to
