A short poem I wrote this year in recognition of Hephaestus (also see it spelled Hephaestos reasonably frequently). Find some of the devotional works to specific deities by Neos Alexandria/Bibliotheca Alexandrina to be rather inspiring.
The Gift Before That of Fire
Before Prometheus bestowed his gift, And incurred the wrath of offended Zeus, Humans had another benefactor, Who provided something for their good use.
In a land a far journey to the south, Before the first temple was ever made, Obscured from Zeus' sight on Mount Olympus By soot, Hephaestus gave pebble tool blade
To a seeking man of Olduvai Gorge Of Oldowan, who started industry. And all tools humans have developed since Arise from this, Hephaestus' granted plea.
