Hey- I'm writing an introductory series to Paganism- trying to write one that is less Wicca/usual "generic paganism 101" oriented and more polytheist/animist leaning, so people can learn about different approaches and how to explore. Red faery has been reblogging them already paganleft.wordpress.com/2015/05/15/approaching-paganism-what-and-why/ I haven't yet gotten to the point of discussion different traditions/religions of paganism, but I'm explaining various aspects of them, if that makes sense- So far: culture-based religions, magic, syncretism

Ooh awesome, can't wait to read!
Sorry to nitpick, but it might be useful to add a short note about the use of "shaman" and "shamanic" and how it's not generally appropriate, since it belongs to a specific culture.

(Don't know how to escape this quotebox...) Yes, that was part of the Pagan Pride definition, which while not perfect, I feel is more descriptive than more precise attempts to define paganism. Anyway, I was planning on writing about the origins/use of the word shamanism- as in anthropology vs. neo/core shamanism. I think a lot of people don't know its origins- I know for myself it took me several years of exploring paganism before finding out "shamanism" wasn't Native American- because that's how it was often described as!

The unpacking/repacking section as a starting point is a great idea, and I am very grateful to you for three more reference books to check out at the end of the Paganism What and Why page. I'm new to Irish Polytheism and Paganism in general and need all the help I can find!
