Just finished reading a post over at Patheos.com, "Enough is Enough", which addresses the ongoing issue of racists in Heathenry and specifically comments recently made by Stephen McNallen of the Asatru Folk Assembly. Our resident Heathens might find it interesting and perhaps even weigh in. Or it might be good for a topic here.

Not a heathen, but I'm part of the group on Facebook "Heathens United Against Racism." It's refreshing to see so many heathens working against the problems of racism in the community. This post is just one of many that people are starting to make. I hope it continues, for the sake of the Heathen community.

I think it's a multi-dimensional issue with various POVs which are worth hearing out from either perspective. Things are rarely black or white (pun unintended).

This is a great read. I follow Caorann - Celts against racism on facebook, and they share some food for thought but they do work with from time to time according to their website.

Derp, that's what I was trying to say. I must have imagined typing GN in there. Makes sense, as the sentence I had was incoherent. X|

To paraphrase KveldulfR Gundarsson (AKA Stephen Gundy) of The Troth, 'racial purity meant nothing to the Germanic peoples who freely married outsiders to their tribe, a practice that is reflected in Norse mythology, with the Gods marrying Jotans and bearing children with them'.
The very idea that the Germanic tribes were one racial stock is in itself ridiculous and largley based on the late 19th century romanticised notions of national socialists. McNallen is a quasi folkish Heathen who regularly puts his foot in his mouth. Unfortunately we also have to content with being associated with right wing folkish Wotanist knuckle draggers.
Most Heathens these days are universalist, McNallen does not speak for us, he is irrelevant.
