The Celtic Cultures Compare/Contrast Board is dedicated to expanding understanding of Celtic Cultures by comparing one culture to another. It isn't about making a case for what one is better or which one is right, but to just try to understand the various view points people take to religion. These boards won't be for everyone, and that's okay. Ideas of what to post:
- Looking at over arching religious practices, like how offerings vary.
- Discussing certain mythological creatures and/if they arise in various cultures.
- Examining different religious theology, like the nature of gods and cosmology.
Which are Celtic Cultures? The Celtic Cultures include Brythonic, Celticiberians, Gaelic, and Gaulish. Brythonic refers to Breton, Welsh, and Cornish cultures; Gaelic refers to Manx, Irish, and Scottish cultures; and Gaulish refers to present day France, Luxembourg, Belgium, most of Switzerland, parts of Northern Italy, as well as the parts of the Netherlands and Germany on the west bank of the Rhine. Celtiberians of the Iberian Peninsula of Spain. Though, in fact, there is debate what is included as Celtic or part of different Celtic cultures! So that is a possible discussion for this board.
