'kay. Title was the best thing I could think of. But like.
Can you. Is it possible to mix an "established" religion and PC polytheism? I struggle hard with pop culture polytheism, especially ponytheism, for obvious reasons. I know the usual ways of explaining it - thoughtforms, concepts, role models, etc - but actually looking at them as gods, goddesses, etc, is hard. And that's an understandable thing. And I know that not everyone looks at their PC... models? as god/dess/es/deities, but I just have a hard time putting it in it's own little box, or multiple boxes.
... I have a feeling I'll make myself go cross-eyed, just like I did when I was having a hard conversation on sexualities, if I pursue that line of thought a little too closely.
But I always digress.
But could you, can you or should you, cross non-PC polytheisms with PC? I can't help but feel like that veers very sharply in the direction of headcanon and fan fiction, and should otherwise be kept entirely separate, but I can't help but think...
What shit would Princess Luna and Manannan get up to?
.. actually we should make sure that Manannan, Pinkie, and Dash should never meet.
Hestia and Pinkie and AJ would have a royal blast if they ever got too close.

I don't think there's anything wrong with syncretism of sorts with PC paganism and non-PC paganism. And using examples of Gaelic Polytheism... Well, I'm still not sure how to differentiate a god from a spirit, so it seems like it'd make one of the best "cross overs" given the problem of what *are* the entities in PC paganism.
And I'm a firm believer that if the deities and entities in question don't like something, they'll let you know.
