Is it alright to discuss the death of a pet here? My household has just been struck by the tragic loss of our 3 month corgi puppy...

I am happy to announce that we were lucky enough to get another corgi puppy! So I feel I've gotten far enough in the mourning process to be able to talk about this. I'm just really curious how other people have coped with pet death, how it fits in the worldview, (in each different tradition/pantheon) and what rituals others have done.
For ourselves, we've kept our previous puppies'leather collar and I occasionally put little puppy treats in it for her. But that's about it. She was a fast puppy so I'm sure she's already moving on in her next incarnation.
I will try to post pictures of our new puppy once I'm on my computer as I can't seem to do it on my phone...?

Congrats on the new puppy I add my deceased pets to my ancestor altar, personally.
