Hello! I'm really glad that I came across this site. I'm Kristin and I have been a polytheist for a little over a year now. Looking back at my life, however, I have always been a polytheist - it just took me over 30 years to realize it. (I was a strange child that wanted to study comparative religion.) I live in Pennsylvania. I'm a member of OBOD and have just completed my first year of study, so I will soon be entering the Ovate grade. I have been mostly focused on the Celtic deities, but also with an interest in Greek, Egyptian, and Germanic/Urglaawe polytheisms as well, and also Eastern Woodland Native American religion, so that I am better able to connect to the land. I am attempting to raise my 5-year old son as a polytheist as well, but I am finding it very difficult, particularly as it comes to family influence. Beyond polytheism, my hobbies include genealogy, exercise, reading, study of history. I am working towards my Permaculture Design Certificate and I also make jewelry on occasion. I am trying to do more with art as well. I'm on tumblr: www.tumblr.com/blog/kristinscollection I am really looking forward to connecting with other polytheists.

Hello! Welcome to the forum Which Celtic deities, by the by? From various Celtic cultures, or are you focusing on one? Also, which of the Native Religions? There are various who lived in the PA area. I'd be wary of any book that lumps them all together--since they're as different as European countries are different from each other.

Right now I am focused on Danu, as she is the one that has spoken to me. I am not currently focusing on a specific Celtic culture. I am still learning about them. As for Native American, I agree. The area that I live in, as far as post-settlement, there does not seem to have been one Native tribe that dominated the area, rather it seems to be a gathering place and thoroughfares for hunting and trade. Susquehannocks, Lenape, Oneida and Shawnee all had influence, among others. I am working on learning the history first. :-)
