I know, oxymoron, but the weather is gorgeous today. My name is Em, I'm a bisexual cisfemale (she/her) recently diagnosed with depression and working with Brighid from the Irish pantheon. I've also worked with the Great Mother Goddess from Tamora Pierce's Tortall novels, and I'm trying to figure out my path. I'm also a little in love with the idea of space pagans, but I'll need to meditate on that further. Ummmm lessee. I'm a former army brat, I like french toast, and I love fantasy books. I love writing and thinking about fictional characters and worlds, and Leonard McCoy is my second forever bae. Right now I'm reading His Fair Assassins novels by Robin LeFevers (which is super pagan BTW, I love it to bits) and drinking too much coffee. Soon I'll be painting my nails, writing, and wondering how best to come out on Facebook. I'd love some friends to talk Brighid or Irish myth or pagan stuff with me. or queer stuff!! Lemme know if there's something upsetting or squick-worthy or triggering in what I say, and I'll edit it ))

Welcome!
I'm Caly, and I'm in the Gaelic pantheons as well, though Brighid has never called me. Still, good to have you!
I'm reading the His Fair Assassin books as well! I just got my hands on Dark Triumph.
Coming out is always rough, I'm still not out on facebook, because most of the people from high school who have me friended on Facebook are the types who would flip out and try to save my soul. They also don't know about the polytheist bit, or the witch bit, by and large. All my college era friends and more recent ones are aware, I believe. If you ever need any support, you can hit me up here or, on tumblr, I'm calyhex there.

SPAAAAAAAAAAACE! Haha welcome Em! I'm actually going to be visiting Washington soon for Many Gods West! I can't wait to see the state! Feel free to go into the Gaelic Polytheist threads and post about, or make a new thread about a myth you want to discuss! We're a great bunch of people

Ryeduck: Hi! I'm really excited to be here too, I've been feeling a little lonely without a community to talk religion. Thank you for welcoming me! Calluna: aAAAAAAAAAAAH HIS DARK TRIUMPH. So good, so good. It is super super trigger-worthy, though, but SO very good. I loved the series, and loved the sort of religious thought behind it. Yeah, I feel for you. I had a bunch of Catholic and more conservative friends that I worried about. I just came out on Facebook, actually! It was a wild success, and I'm so relieved. The only bad spot is that my mother still doesn't support me, and wanted me to make sure that if I came out, that she wouldn't get any questions from her friends. Tbh? Her loss. I still haven't come out to many people about the polytheist stuff yet, but at this point, I don't really think it matters? Like, my religion is a little more private, but who I hold hands with isn't. Thank you for welcoming me!!! Allec: Many Gods West? OH! That sounds FASCINATING! If I had a car I'd go over!! Washington is very nice, very pretty. And Olympia and anything further out west is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for welcoming me!!! Cass: I'm so glad for you!! <3 Tbh I'm still trying to figure out what to do, where to start, but I'll figure it out eventually. And with myth, there's so so much. I'm reading Of Gods and Men by Lady Gregory, and while it's not strictly academic, I'm loving the whole mythology and the storytelling. Thank you for welcoming me!
