I'm Ellen! You can call me that, or Fia, or Deer, as I'm sometimes known on different websites. I can be found on Tumblr as fia-beag (my religious blog) or miss-shydeer (my main/art blog). I meant to join this forum earlier, I've just been too shy. But ah well, I'm here now! I'm a GaelPol who honors multiple Irish gods (mostly Brigid, An Cailleach, Lugh, Manannan mac Lir, Macha, Flidais, and occasionally Airmid) and my ancestors. (I'd work with the Good Folk, except that they quite honestly terrify me. For now, the ball's in their court if they wanna start something up.) I started out as just a general ~pagan~ without any sort of path or real understanding of religious practice a few years ago, until late 2013 when Brigid got my attention, and I've been hard at work doing research and worship ever since. After I began to honor Brigid, An Cailleach gave me a few jabs, then before I knew it, I ended up with piles of research and multiple shrines in my living space that I maintain and cycle throughout the year. I love it though, and I love them. Because I suffer from mental and chronic illness, I'm not able to give offerings and pray as much as I'd like, but I make sure to show my devotion in any and every way I can. Outside of my religion, I practice witchcraft, draw tons, read tons, and play more video games than I probably should. Also, I'm studying history at college, and hoping to become a librarian someday! I'm looking forward to meeting you all and engaging in discussion!

Glad to have you here Ellen! What video games do you play? :3 My all-time favorite is Fallout (mostly 3 and New Vegas), but I also play tons of Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Borderlands, and Bioshock! RPGs are definitely my thing. I used to play Assassin's Creed too, before they went all weird. What do you play? 8)

Oooh great selection of games ;D I'm a huge Borderlands fan, though I'm played Fallout, Elder Scrolls (barely), and Bioshock. Not a fan of Bioshock though...which is an unpopular opinion I know haha. Also a fan of the Zelda game series, quirky indie games, Portal series...whatever will grab my interest in both story and gameplay, which is hard for most games to do Are you excited about Fallout 4?

Nah, I can see why you'd not be a fan of Bioshock. There are plenty of gripes I have with it, in fact. They're basically my guilty pleasure, heh. I love Zelda!! I forgot to mention Nintendo. I used to play a lot, but it's gotten harder to keep up with the new consoles, and I'm pretty broke. But, Windwaker will always have a special place in my heart. As well as Portal! I love Valve games actually, mostly Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead, and TF2. Totally agree on the story and gameplay thing. I'll even forgo a bit of the latter so long as the former is strong. Story and characters keep me glued to a game to the end, whereas something like COD where the gameplay is the backbone is nooooot really my bag. You BET I'm excited about Fallout 4. I actually cried at the E3 reveal. I think I may be a little too invested!

Yeah, I bet :< I have a lot of consoles that go back generations...a bit of a collector xD
Windwaker is a great game...and one I need to finish! But I was on the Gamecube one when the HD got released, so idk what to do now haha.
I'm pretty sure I'm getting my fiance Fallout 4 as a belated anniversary gift xD I need to beat the other Fallouts before I can really justify buying it myself haha.

Yeah, you gotta be pretty committed to complete Windwaker. When you're in it, you're in it for the long haul. My recommendation is to just skip 1 and 2 until you beat 3 and NV. I've played 2 and it is ridiculously hard. I haven't even gotten a third of the way into it!!

Yeah, I take the role play aspect pretty seriously most of the time, in that whenever the opportunity to make a choice presents itself (which is near constantly), I take care to consider what that character would realistically do. Most of my characters are goody two-shoes, hahah.

I like being "me-if-I-was-badass" which is pretty goody two-shoes, but I also like to play the opposite of me too xD

The only thing I can never do is be truly evil, or do bad things for no reason or for my own gain. In Skyrim, I love the Thieves Guild, but I can never bring myself to join the Dark Brotherhood, for example.

Yeaaaah I know what you mean. It's hard to be evil, but I'm SO DAMN CURIOUS as to what happens when I am...in video games >.>;
