Hey everyone! The name's Duckr or Lin, I respond to both. You can usually find me on my tumblr blog, same as my username.
I'm a Hellenic Polytheist. I only just started ID'ing as one last March so I'm still very new! Since I moved up to my own apartment for college last August it has been very difficult to practice my religion. Although my room mate is aware of my religion I still can't bring myself to whip out my altar and pray with someone else who isn't of my religion in the room. Like it just makes me really uncomfortable. So I've been very spotty in my practices but I will soon have my own room so I have high hopes things will get better.
As for how I came to find myself at home in Hellenismos, it's been a long, long journey. I first found a strong interest in worshiping the Theoi 3 years ago, but there's been a lot of personal issues and self denial in the way. But I've finally found a religion that works for me and I'm so glad.
I'm a devotee of Apollo, Ares, and Gaia. At this moment I feel that Apollo has taken the fore front, but being that I'm in art school right now I'm not surprised. He may not explicitly be stated as the god of the visual arts but I definitely feel he's got his eye on all of the artsy kids.
Other than paganing and witching everywhere; I'm a graphic design major, but I also do painting and illustration. I try to dapple around in other art forms whenever I can. I played viola for my last year in high school and I miss it like crazy, I'm hoping one day to have enough money to buy my own. I spend way too much time on the internet, especially playing video games. I'm basically a giant nerd and kind of weeb trash, I'm all about the fantasy genre. Although tbh you can throw any book, TV show, anime, movie, etc. at me and if there's a female and/or poc protagonist I'll eat it up. I also have a strange obsession with trees and cats. I'm currently trying to get a part time job as an animal care associate at any of the animal shelters that are around my area (although I'm a desperate art student and honestly I'll take any part time job right now).
This forum seems pretty cool. I usually get nervous around a lot of people but I think I'll enjoy myself here!
