Hello, I'm Ironphoenix, or you can just call my Phoenix for short and I'm...honestly trying to figure out what I am. I have only recently come to the conclusion I'm not Christian and haven't been for a long time, if ever.
For a long time though (practically as long as my memory goes back) I've been fascinated with Ancient Egypt, to the point of by the time I was ten I was attempting to teach myself hieroglyphic. For a time in high school I experimented with worshiping Aset, but still under a Christain framework (As I interpreted 'Thou shall have no other Gods before me.' as 'You can worship other Gods, just not honor them before me.) I don't remember why I quit, but most of my free time for leisure studying went away when I got to college and hasn't quite come back yet, but I'm working on it.
So right now I'm trying out a Kemetic path, since those Gods have felt the most familiar (Anubis in particular feels like an old dear friend for reasons I've never been able to explain and I can't even remember where or when I first learned about him.) But the leftover Christian guilt/fear thing is making that difficult.
I've also recently come to terms that I'm a witch. I've been one for a long time I guess, just not accepting that as what it was. I have a tumblr where I reblog mostly traditional-ish craft....also reblog a lot of cats and crows and other critters. And plants.
I don't have a whole lot of free time. I work as a full time cashier at one of those giant hardware warehouse stores although I was going to school for nursing/medical tech (if I ever get to go finish, I'm considering switching to forensic nursing). When I do get free time, I spend a lot of it on the internet. Outside of the internet I garden, cook, embroider, read and make assorted craft things. I use to write a lot, but lack of free time has killed most of that.
I'm going to hush and slink off to lurk now. ;;>.>
