Hi everyone! I'm Verity. I'm glad to have found this forum!
I'm in my mid-30s, married with a son who has just started school. I've been a full time mum for the last five years and am just trying to find my feet now that my little boy is out from under them all day.
I'd have to say I am a recovering Wiccan, since Wicca was my first introduction to paganism and polytheism in general, but due to my dissatisfaction with a number of aspects of it (dubious historicity of practices included) I have been looking elsewhere for a spiritual framework.
My mentor/friend who saw me through my first year and a day is a priestess of Hecate and through Her I was led to Cerridwen and Taliesin, and looking back I have always been most strongly drawn to Welsh mythology (as well as some Irish, and I definitely have Irish ancestors on my mother's side). I am also interested in connecting with Blodeuwedd and Gwyn ap Nudd It's been really hard to find anyone else who connects with these deities though so I am hopeful that I'll find some here.
I am studying oghams as well, and trying to teach myself irish Gaelic via duolingo; if anyone knows of a good resource for learning welsh I'd love to know of it. I'm very keen to avoid appropriation eclecticism and really enjoy a firm historical basis for stuff. Resource rcommendations are always welcome.
You can also find me on Tumblr where I do a fair bit of fannish ranting (LOTR, the Hobbit, the Dark is Rising, MCU, are prominent features) and also share pictures of my garden, my cats, my cooking, and my crochet. I write fan fiction, some of which also qualifies loosely as devotional writing (bizarre though that may seem) and I am currently trying to write an original fantasy novel.
That's all I can think of to say for now - looking forward to getting to know more of you!
