Hi everyone,
My name is Sarah or Atlene - feel free to call me either one! I currently live in Western Australia, but have plans to spend at least the next two years in the UK. Like many others, my first experiences with religion were through Christianity and then Neo-wicca. Throughout my exploration of neo-wicca and the like, I felt awkward and frustrated because some part felt so right while others so wrong. I was always drawn more to "Celtic" spirituality than any other though.
About two years ago, I became so despondent about the solitary ecclectic neo-wiccan thing I was trying to fit into my life that I abandoned it. I ended up doing a lot of research into various other 'pagan' religions and belief systems and spiritualities, and was lead from Duotheism into medium-hard Polytheism and to Celtic Reconstructionisim. I still feel like a reconstructionist approach is the most appropriate for me at this point in my life, though I've since relaxed my approach to it a little. I always thought I'd be drawn more towards Gaelic Polytheism, but somehow I've ended up in Brythonic Polytheism (or Brythonic-leaning anyway as I have a soft spot of Gallic/Gaulish deities too. Oh, and an interest in Anglo-Saxon Heathenry... it couldn't just be simple could it?) As yet, I don't really have very much experience or any relationships with many deities or entities, mostly because I can't seem to get myself out of the 'learn-about' phase, and into actually practicing. I need to keep reminding myself that I can (and probably should) do both at the same time.
Anyway, this is the first time I've ever made any kind of account for anything 'pagan' related in my life. I'm still learning to be more comfortable sharing this side of myself with others. I've been lurking here since these boards were set up and I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts, and look forward to any conversations or discussions I might have with any of you!
