I'm working on the guidelines for the group art shrine this week!
Since historical accuracy / culturally-minded approaches to our shrine are important, this is a major part of the guidelines. I'm hoping to create a little informal "advisory group" for folks who want to submit to the shrine. The purpose here is twofold -
1) Have people I can send a piece of submitted art to if there seems to be a concern, so I'm not the only one making calls
2) Have people who can help others find resources, in case they are unsure of something they are creating and would like to check some facts
I'm still sorting how I'd like to set this up since I don't want this to be a massive pull on anyone's time, but I'm thinking maybe a Skype chat group we can chuck stuff around in when we need it and then a shrine email address that I can give multiple people access to for answering people's inquiries.
If anyone's interested, I'm hoping for people who are primarily confident in their ability to search resources - you don't have to know everything, you just need to know how to find things that might help people - and secondarily feel confident in their practice. I don't want this to sound like I'm being a dick, because this isn't by any means related to how long you've been practicing, but it's definitely important that this is something you feel credible about because I don't want people (THREE GUESSES WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT /fart) to be able to call us out on improper scholarly practices and therefore try to brand us as an irrelevant resource. I really want this to be a space for both sharing artistic pursuits and doing lots of learning, in a unique context.
Definitely more details forthcoming as I shake out the guidelines, please let me know if you're interested! And remember, this doesn't by any means have to be some crazy time commitment, you only have to help when you want to and you don't have to engage directly with submitters if you don't want to. I just need a trusty group of people I can bounce stuff off of.
