Hey everyone! Just wanted to say happy Lughnasa to you all and I hope everyone had a great day! I didn't do anything special because I had to work 11 hours today, but surprisingly I had a really, really good day today so I feel extremely blessed and grateful. Also, it didn't hurt that a brewery just opened yesterday across the parking lot and I got to have an awesome drink before I left! What about y'all?

Happy Lughnasadh!
It is a pretty low key holiday for me, so mostly I celebrated by eating too many blueberries.

My Lughnasa was both low-key and high-key haha. Low-key in the way that I didn't get to do any of my typical celebrations--which is eat a lot and play a lot of games. Maybe I will tomorrow? Better late than never!
But high-key in that I oathed to Lugh!

This Lughnasadh was the first one I've actually celebrated! The day of I made blueberry pancakes and a berry smoothie, and the day after I went up a hill overlooking a lake at sundown. Weather divination wise the wind was so still that we had an ozone watch, but it just barely sprinkled for like, 5 seconds.
I'm getting the hang of observing Lughnasadh in offerings and recognizing it's appearance in my locale, but celebrating Lughnasadh in a more upfront way is still a struggle, because my relationship with Lugh is pretty... distant, still. But also I'm realizing the way I want to celebrate this holiday is communal, and that's not possible for me because my religious community (see: y'all) is somewhere else. Makes me wish I had the chance to go to MGW even more, haha.
At least having an idea of what I want is an improvement from not knowing what it is to me. I'm starting to realize I have that down pat (it's Parker County peaches, it's golden grass, it's chosen-family reunions where you play games inside all day because it's too damn hot, it's the hushed promise of Fall in the coming months) but I still don't know how to execute it. Not yet, anyway.
this post got away from me aaaaa

I made him tea and set out some food for him. It was also the last day of SGDQ that day so I watched that and played a couple of games myself. By god I will be damned good at Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness before my life is through. Perhaps not world record level with my speed, but I'll be damned good. Argh. It was also exercise day so that felt rather fitting. I read a story about Lugh to a friend of mine for his birthday and the day too. Namely the bit of the Second Battle of Mag Tuiread where Lugh joins the Tuatha de Danann.
Sadly no rain on the day. But then we rarely have rain here and we did have a nice two days of very heavy rain a while ago, I suppose.
