Hi everyone!
I can be found at wolf-souled-druid on tumblr, and on deviantART at ElementalShifter. Feel free to browse my gallery!
My fandom tumblr blog is emerald-soul, but I keep my spiritual posts/business on wolf-souled-druid.
I've had a few names on the internet, but currently go by Auras, or Aura. You can call me Free, either, if you like
Pronouns are she/her.
My spiritual path has been all over the place. I was raised a Roman Catholic by my mother, whose mom and dad both came directly from Ireland, so you can imagine that they were very devout people. I never knew my grandpa on my mom's side, but my grandma is a very devout Catholic.
I officially emancipated myself from Catholicism in 2011, following a life-changing trip to Spain for World Youth Day, a gathering of the world's Catholic youth. I went to find out if I truly had any connection to this practice I'd been raised into, and found that I didn't. Following this experience, I kind of drifted for a bit in terms of a coherent belief system. I remained sturdy in my faith that the Abrahamic God does exist, and that Jesus exists and had a hand in my life as well. That remains part of my belief system. I have friends who practice a form of animism, and to this day, that remains the foundation for my spiritual practices and beliefs.
I turned polytheist after (stay with me, I know this sounds dumb) reading a tumblr post. Maybe you've seen it before if you're on tumblr, but the basic premise was that there was a campus somewhere that set up a graveyard for "dead gods". This opened a philosophical question to me: if these Gods are dead simply because the culture that honoured them has faded into antiquity, then one day that will be true of the Abrahamic God as well. On this premise, I decided it was only reasonable to believe in all the Gods and Goddesses. That was when they started talking to me. I've been going from there since 2013.
I connected my animistic beliefs with Polytheism, and quite often, the Gods talk to me through what I see in the world around me. So far, I have had the pleasure of working with Loki, Cernunnos, Belenus, Lugh, Athena, and Nemetona. I'm all over the place with who talks to me, but I have a definite inclination towards "Celtic" deities. (Celtic in quotes because I recognize that it is often an unhelpfully broad term)
As for hobbies, I am an artist, and I have been an equestrian for 11 years. It might not sound like a lot, but I'm 21, so at this point it's more than half of my life, and I'm rather proud of it! I hope to own a horse one day.
I look forward to reading and participating in discussions!
