Hey, my name's Lana and I'm a Hellenic Pagan. I wouldn't really say I'm a polytheist, since I believe in all gods, but Hellenic deities are my center. Specifically, Hades and Persephone. They're my patrons. I don't have a permanent altar yet, but I'm pretty close to setting one up. I'd love to discuss with other Hellenic peeps. If anyone needs information/lore on a specific deity, I do own the Iliad and the Complete Greek Dramas and might be able to help. c:

Polytheist generally believe that all gods exist in their own right. So rather than soft polytheism (all gods are faces of the same god) we tend to believe in hard polytheism (all gods are their own separate entities) While there is absolutely nothing wrong with soft polytheism, these boards tend to be geared more towards hard polytheism.
Also, oh my gods I LOVE reading about Hades and Persephone. I think that if I were to be a Hellenic polytheistic, I would just like RUN in their direction haha

Welcome! Glad to have you aboard! Can I ask what you mean by " I wouldn't really say I'm a polytheist, since I believe in all gods?" I'm genuinely curious form the academic side of my religious interests. ETA: Ohp, looks like Brim beat me to the punch with the same train of thought.

Well what I mean is that I'm a pantheist rather than a polytheist, since I believe in all gods (Abrahamic God, Hindu deities, Shinto Kami etc.) separately, but that Hellenic deities are the ones I worship. Mostly so I don't get stretched too thin. Also because some religions are closed.
Thanks for explaining, Brim! I was always wondering what those both meant, actually.
And yes, Hades and Persephone are amazing! I have argued so many times about them, haha.

Pantheism usually means something like believing everything is divine/the divine is everything, from my understanding. What you described sounds a lot more like classic polytheism to me. :]
/also waves a tiny I-love-Hades-and-Persephone-even-though-that's-not-my-religion flag.

Welcome to the boards Lana! I will also join the "I love Hades and Persephone even though they're not my religion" club, heh
