Does anyone have any advice on how best to contact him? I'm not near a lake or ocean, though I do have a river nearby. He's the only god I've ever really actively approached, and again, I'm as godfogged as they come, but he honestly doesn't seem very picky. I do most of my offerings in my room, very laid back to the point of irreverancy. (I'm bad with ritual and such oops.) I don't think you need to be near any sort of water to make an offering to him. The intentions and the act are more important than the props, imo. eta: Searlait I am so in love with the idea of a car shrine to Manannan omg.

Oh my gosh I forgot my out of state friends literally planned their pot luck on the worst weekend possible.
Maybe I'll do some stuff in the car on the drive home, ahaha.

I'm in the midst of getting a new apartment, so I've already paid. It hurt so much.
Haha, shit, I don't know what I'm talking about.

Kind of thinking I might do it today. I think I remember offerings of rocks are a thing (specifically white granite) and I have a lot of that. So I'll probably go down to the stream and leave one.

I generally do teas or alcohols, but since im out of the later I might offer some chamomile since its my favorite. Ive never heard of offering white granite though, is there a particular reason?

I'm probably going to gather or get yellow flowers and strew them in the creel on the nearby walking trail in offering.

So! I just learned about the whole Manannan/Midsummer thing. Is that more of a myth or cultural thing?

So! I just learned about the whole Manannan/Midsummer thing. Is that more of a myth or cultural thing? I think it comes out of Manx stuff. I'm not 100% on that though, I'm not really sure what the specific origin is. I might go down to the river sometime today and give something. c:

A way to pay Manannán for letting us use his sea...but I can't for the life of me find a source on that!
